Scout Active Support
What is Scout Active Support?
Scout Active Support is for anyone over the age of 18 years. It is a way for adults to volunteer time to Scouting in a flexible way that suits them. People can still be involved in Scouting without the commitment of being a leader. Scout Active Support can take up as much or as little time as the volunteer wishes.
Do I already need to know about Scouting?
There is no requirement to have been involved in Scouting before joining. All that is required is a willingness to volunteer some time to support Scouting.
What sort of things would I be doing?
The Scout Active Support Unit provides a resource for the Group to use as required. This could include:
Working in the kitchen at events
Taking part in grounds and buildings maintenance days
Regular grass cutting
Regular cleaning of the Scout Hut
Website maintenance
PR
Helping organise fundraising events
If you are keen to get involved in some other way you will be very welcome to join. For example, you may be willing to provide extra support at events, offer catering services on camp, be available as an occasional helper if regular helpers are absent, or you may have particular skills that you would like to share with young people.
How do I join?
